Everyday use
The high xylitol concentration (approx. 99.5%), unlike conventional sugar, has an alkaline effect and neutralizes harmful acids in the mouth that could attack tooth enamel. Consuming foods and drinks containing xylitol instead of sugar helps maintain tooth remineralization. We recommend 1 to 2 lollipops per day (approx. 3 to 6 g), or 2 to 3 Zähnchen (approx. 3 to 4.5 g), or a combination of both, spread throughout the day and preferably after meals and brushing your teeth. It is best not to eat or drink anything for 30 minutes afterward so that the xylitol can work optimally. Excessive consumption may have a laxative effect. Store in a dry, cool place protected from light. Because these are handmade, individual variations in shape and color are possible.
Important for pets: Xylitol is not suitable for pets; dogs in particular must not eat it. Like grapes or chocolate, it is not tolerated by dogs and can be dangerous even in small amounts.

How do I calculate insulin for low carb products?
Low-carb products say "sugar-free" on the packaging, but the carbohydrates are usually very high. What does that mean and how much insulin do I need for it? The carbohydrates from polyhydric alcohols have no effect on the metabolism and do not increase blood sugar levels, so they do not need to be calculated in terms of insulin dosage. In concrete terms, this means: you check the packaging to see how many carbohydrates are stated. From that, you subtract the information "of which polyhydric alcohols". The result is the number that you need to take into account in terms of insulin dosage.
