Frequently asked questions

Freestyle Libre 2 sensor waterproof patch: Can I shower and swim with it?

Yes, the tape is waterproof. You can wear it while showering and swimming.

Where can I find information about patch allergies?

For skin reactions caused by patch adhesive or sensor adhesive, you can find information about possible causes, skin protection and skincare in our guide to skin irritation. If skin reactions persist, talk to your diabetes care team.

How can I remove patch adhesive?

Use an adhesive remover intended for the skin according to its instructions for use. Follow the information on application and contact time. You can find a selection among our adhesive removers.

Are there matching sensor stickers for the opening?

The tape leaves the sensor surface uncovered. You can find matching designs among the stickers. Choose the sticker for your sensor model.

What is the difference between an Overpatch, Ring Tape and Underpatch?

An Overpatch has no opening and sits over the sensor. A Ring Tape has an opening and frames the sensor. An Underpatch sits between the skin and the sensor. This tape is a Ring Tape with an opening.

Goes well with

With the TapeGuard application aids, you can also apply your Ring Tape to hard-to-reach areas without help from someone else. Choose the suitable version for your sensor.

Other products in the range: the SCHMUCK Underpatch barrier and the Brava skin protection sheet for cutting to size.

You can find more tapes from Zuckerschmuck in the relevant overview.

Other uses

You can also use the tape on your shoulder to prevent bra straps from slipping and on the ball of your foot to prevent shoes from slipping.

Tips for overpatches/tapes for covering

FAQ FAQ

Sticking on and changing the tapes is even easier with our TapeCover protective cap: this permanently reusable plastic part is stuck between the tape and the sensor and ensures that you can easily remove the tape during operation and stick on a new tape.

Tips for border tapes with holes:

FAQ FAQ

We have developed our adhesive aid TapeGuard for tapes with a hole: TapeGuard is a small, flexible plastic frame that fits exactly around your sensor and onto which the tape is stuck. Tape and TapeGuard can then be easily stuck on even in difficult areas of the body without any outside help. Can I change the tapes while the sensor/pod is running?

FAQ FAQ

You can easily remove or replace the tape at any time while the sensor/pod is in use: Press the sensor/pod firmly onto the skin from above and carefully peel the tape around the outside from the skin. While you continue to press the sensor/pod firmly onto the skin with one finger, first pull part of the tape away from the sensor/pod until a sufficiently large area of the sensor/pod without any tape is visible. Press this area of the sensor/pod without any tape with your finger and peel off the rest of the tape.
