Cocoa drink powder with sweetener xylitol.

Only 1g of countable carbohydrates/20g of powder per cup (equivalent to 3-4 teaspoons/cup plus carbohydrates from 150ml of milk or milk substitute, e.g. a total of about 6g of carbohydrates per cup with milk)! The carbohydrates from polyhydric alcohols have no effect on metabolism and do not increase blood sugar levels, so they do not need to be calculated in terms of insulin dosage.

This delicious, creamy drinking chocolate is sweetened only with xylitol. It is suitable for making hot drinks, but can also be drunk cold - mixed with a little warm milk.

How do I calculate insulin for low carb products?

Low-carb products say "sugar-free" on the packaging, but the carbohydrates are usually very high. What does that mean and how much insulin do I need for it? The carbohydrates from polyhydric alcohols have no effect on the metabolism and do not increase blood sugar levels, so they do not need to be calculated in terms of insulin dosage. In concrete terms, this means: you check the packaging to see how many carbohydrates are stated. From that, you subtract the information "of which polyhydric alcohols". The result is the number that you need to take into account in terms of insulin dosage.
